DERECO applying for residential building permit in Moers

Back to overview

In December, DERECO, the Cologne-based multi-family office for real estate assets, submitted an application for a building permit concerning a project development in Moers. The company intends to build a modern, central residential complex on a plot between Homberger Strasse, Otto-Hue-Strasse and Bankstrasse. The development is based on drafts by Wrede Architekten from Dusseldorf. In addition to 139 residential units, new retail space is planned to be created on the ground floor, accessible from the Homberger Strasse pedestrian zone. An underground car park is going to be built under the entire plot.

In close contact with the local authorities of the city of Moers and its urban design committee (Gestaltungsbeirat), a project-related framework plan for a shopping centre (formerly planned by the Charterhaus company) on the same premises was cancelled with a view to DERECO’s new concept at hand since the shopping centre development had turned out to be unrealistic.

Project volume amounts to approx. €45m. DERECO expects the project to be completed within two years as of the date when the building permit is granted.
