DERECO Cologne – Reinforcement in Real Estate Asset Management

Back to overview

As part of the comprehensive support of wealthy families and semi-institutional investors, the real estate company, DERECO, Cologne, is seeing stronger demand in the real estate asset management area. The company is taking account of this growing demand by expanding its team.

DERECO has brought in a strong reinforcement: Jörg Kohlhaus (43 years of age) will head up and expand the real estate asset management business area in the future. The MBA graduate has worked in fund and asset management for more than ten years and managed real estate funds, making both national and international investments. His career has taken him, amongst other places, to MPC Real Estate Consulting GmbH, Lloyd Fonds AG and Hamburgische Immobilien Handlung GmbH. Kohlhaus most recently worked for IGB Real Estate Beteiligung GmbH and surveyed the fund and asset management area as a fund manager.

In the past, mandates in real estate asset management were assumed exclusively by DERECO on behalf of clients who were already being advised by DERECO in investment management. DERECO has recently secured a further mandate in the asset management area from such a business relationship.

As published recently, DERECO intends to open up real estate asset management in the future to mandates that were originally not established by investment management. In doing so, corresponding synergies with a view to already tried-and-tested processes and professional quality standards are to be used in this area.

But despite all opportunities arising in the market, DERECO will maintain its focus on its
long-standing core business, which is to individually support private wealth and semi-institutional clients in their real estate-related activities.

With advisory focusing on private investors, family offices and foundations, DERECO has
implemented investments worth more than EUR 1 billion in transactions over the past
10 years and brought about and implemented various funds in the form of private
placements / club deals.
